We invite you to join us for a one of a kind evening of musical improvisation, art and performance at The Ivy House on Sat Feb 17 2024!
Guests will be immersed in a fusion of musical experimentation as KASE's lo-fi Jazz inspired soundscapes blend seamlessly with R.A.T.M.A.N.'s experimental beats. The night will feature guest appearances from KASE founding member knowsthetime, as well as guests Jane Han with Ted King-Smith and Maaly Napoleon. The Ivy House will be transformed by multi-disciplinary artist Jeff Zimpel to create a truly immersive experience.

THIS STUDIO IS ALIVE
Currently working on a book - mapping the elements that make artist workspaces feel especially alive. This Studio is Alive explores these so-called elements, Inklings of these ideas came about during the writing of my graduate thesis, but most have become clearer in my post MFA journey. Elements span my 3-month Ecology of Marks residency at Arts@Large, my yearlong ARTServancy residency at Forest Beach Migratory Preserve - Forest Beach is a Living Studio, and my yearlong residency at Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel, Studio Ecology.
Compositions of Collaboration (below) are a few small fragments - it’s the step I’m on in this process. At this point, I’m mostly combing through the writings, documented images, sound, and video, to gather and layout the visual presence of each of the elements. It’s compositions all the way down.
Ethan Sorge (“To See and Be Shown”) was the Studio Ecology photographer throughout my yearlong residency at Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel.
My friend and wizard brother, Coe Douglas, has been a trusted collaborator on this creative odyssey - this art-life performance. This is Coe in front of our Sigil Wall collaboration: We - the creative spirits, conjure this Ecology of Marks.
